Pie Cupcakes

These have to be my favorite because they came out great and were fairly easy to make!
What you need:
  • 24 vanilla cupcakes (I used lemon)
  • 2 16oz cans vanilla frosting
  • Yellow food dye
  • 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Assorted candy's (M&M's, Jelly Beans, etc)

Step 1: Have your cupcakes cooled and ready to go!

 Step 2: Separate your colors.

Step 5: Mix your frosting with your yellow food dye and your cocoa powder to make a golden brown color.

Step 4:  Spread some frosting on your cupcakes and throw some M&M's on there!

Step 5: (What I failed to do first: Pipe 4 or 5 lines across the M&M's first, then diagonally) Pipe a beaded edge around the cupcake. (If you don't have a frosting gun, IT'S OK! Cut a hole in the corner of a gallon ziplock bag and place frosting inside and squeeze!!!)

This is about what your edges should look like!

And PRESTO! You're done. Easy, right???

Life is like a Box of Cupcakes!

My version of giving a box of chocolates for Valentines day!

I made mini cupcakes and put them in a heart shaped box along with Valentines day M&M's to hold them in place. I personalized it for my husband. I put a J and an A (because his name is Joe and my name is Alyssa) in two hearts (pink Laffy Taffy cut out from a stencil) and I placed a single conversation heart that said you're awesome, because when my husband and I were dating, on our first valentines day he gave me a giant one (palm sized) that said you're awesome (Our favorite word).

Owl Cupcakes

These are a few of the materials needed:
  • Cooled down cupcakes
  • Frosting
  • Mini or regular sized Oreo's
  • Sliced almonds
  • Skittles
  • Chocolate covered sunflower seeds
  • Colored Gel Icing

 Next: Frost your cupcakes, flat.

Next: Separate you Oreo's, with full creme on one side.
Next: Place two on both sides.

Next: put some frosting on your Skittles, as glue and place evenly on Oreo's.
Next: Place one orange chocolate covered sunflower seed in between eyes.

Next: Draw squiggly lines under beak, for fur.
Next: Place three sliced almonds on sides and above eyes.

Here are a few completed ones.

And Voila! Easy as pie! Next time, I'll do something a bit more complex.

Cream Cheese Frosting

I found this cream cheese frosting THAT I LOVE on allrecipes.com
My husband and I aren't huge frosting people, but with this recipe, it's not as sweet and very creamy. It even goes great if you mix in some peanut butter for a creamy peanut butter frosting.

"This is a wonderfully creamy frosting that goes well with pumpkin bread, carrot cake, chocolate cake, on cookies or between cookies."
Ingredients:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese,
softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar. Store in the refrigerator after use.

I usually don't really follow the measurements well, but vanilla is my secret ingredient, so I put a bit more and less butter.

My new project: My craft room!

This is about how I want my craft room to look, color and all. But I want more of an apple green for the walls but I like the white wall shelves and the white furniture and the red random organizers.

I'm a beginner sewer, so the white desk in the photo will be my sewing machine table/ scrapbooking table.  This is the table I am hoping to get from Target. It's $219.99.

I want  to have a measuring table like this one but in white. I LOVE that it has cubby's for my fabrics.
I want these wall shelves, about 3 or four and some regular white ones.

For his cubby organizer, I will have 4 red baskets with my scrapping stuff.

This is what I have so far. I chose a spring green, I just need to finish the room. I'm sooooo excited to finish!!!

Finally finished the Ocean painting!!!

My friend and neighbor asked me to paint her the ocean. I'm more of an abstract artist, so I decided to do my own spin on the sky and voila! Also, I put real sand on the beach that came from Florida!

Strawberry pie

Strawberry Pie!
I'm not a huge pie person, but this was pretty good!
I actually made this recipe myself, unfortunately I don't remember how I made it.
All I know is that it came to me in a dream, where I made it with Phyllo dough instead of traditional dough and served this pie warm, a la mode.
So that what I did! I thought of what I would like in a strawberry pie and I did it!
I was delicious, especially with ice cream, but I personally didn't like it cold or room temperature, so get
a lot of people to eat it with you!

Cupcakes!!!!!

These were the first fun cupcakes I had ever made and they were indeed soooooo much fun! I made these for my husband who was in Tech School for the US Air Force. Sadly they got smashed and looked like applesauce cupcakes instead.

These Pie cupcakes have to be my fav! They were so fun and easy to do! I had just bought my first frosting gun, so I had to try it out! And voila!

These Rubber Ducky cupcakes look fun and easy....they were fun, but easy? NOT! These were crazy hard to do! The frosting was TOO liquidy and was dripping EVERYWHERE!  However, they went to a good cause. I made them for a bake sale for an organization, that now that I think about it, I can't remember what they did. But these sold like hot cakes! People loved them!!

These Polar bear cupcakes are so cute, I want to hug them! I made them for my husbands Christmas potluck. Unfortunately, He took them to work, WHEN HE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO, and smashed them.  Good thing I took photos!
These Walrus cupcakes were tricky. Because of the crushed Oreo crumbles, nothing would stick. They do have eyes though! They are little chocolate Jimmys (or sprinkles as some people like to call them)
