MY FAMOUS BEEF STEW
What you need:
- 1-2 lbs of beef chunks for stew
- 5 cups of veggies (Potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and garlic)
- 1 can diced tomatoes, I like to use fire roasted tomatoes
- 3 packets of beef stew seasonings
- 4 cups of water
What you need to do:
I like to soak the beef in water and a little bit of vinegar because it takes out all the excess blood from inside the meat.
The beef chunks are pretty big, so I like to cut them into little bites size pieces.
Bring all your beef into a roasting pan (preheat your oven to 450) I like to sprinkle garlic chunks and/or minced garlic all over the beef and mix it around with some salt and pepper.
I mince the celery, because I do like the flavor of celery in soup/stews, but I don't like biting into them.
Add all your veggies together into the roasting pan.
This is the trick and why my beef stew is so yummy. :)
Each beef stew packet calls for 2 cups of water. I don't do that.
I put 3 packets to 4 cups of water.
This adds a lot of flavoring into the beef and veggies.
Add into your veggies and stir it all up!
Bake for 1.5 hours to 2 hours.
TA DAAAAAA!
In my family, we eat beef stew over a bed of rice.
Enjoy!
1 Lovely Thoughts:
I love slow cooked beef stews - I make them in my slowcooker and each time it's a little different depending on what vegetables I have. Yours looks great.
